THE ASSOCIATION FOR THE NOBILITY OF NORWAY (AD)
is open to all types of Norwegian nobility, titled as well as untitled.

Our aim is to promote traditional Noble Values, Chivalry and Charity.
The Association for The Nobility of Norway / Norsk Adels Forening adhere to and support the rules of CILANE.
In Norway Nobiliary Succession adheres to the rules for Nobiliary Transmission and Succession in each Patent.
Thus, depending how fortunate you where in your choice of regent, these rules for Nobiliary Succession and Transmission may be;
All in accordance with the specifik decrees in each Patent.
1:"Cognatic succession": means when noble succession continues through both the male and female sides.
2: "Agnatic succession": means when noble succession continues only through the male side.
Thus, to find out if a certain Norwegian noble family has agnatic or
cognatic succession, one must simply read the letter patent by which the family was created noble.
The Patent will specify to whom Nobility has been given through the Patent in each differnt case (For Patent Nobility)
B: Establish the terms and conditions for noble succession in use at the time and place where the family was first recognised as noble, if nothing more specific can be established as pertaining to that family. (For Original Nobility)
This of course means that the rules for Nobiliary Succession in Norway is different from family to family, and in perfect accordance with what whatever was decreed in each unique Patent of Nobility.
